About me

My background is within environmental engineering, focusing on wastewater treatment. After graduating from Environmental and Water engineering in Uppsala, I have been working a few years within the water and wastewater sector in Sweden.

About my research project

My research project is about new systems and technologies for water and wastewater treatment, and how they can be chosen and implemented in a Swedish context. Stricter requirements for treated wastewater released in nature, and water scarcity in some areas, poses a need for sustainable ways of handling our water resources.

My project is among others connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to good health and well-being (SDG 3), clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11) and life below water (SDG 14).

My background is in engineering, and my focus will be on the design and evaluation of the technical treatment process, based on water quality. However, other questions that need to be addressed in the discussion about different systems, such as acceptance, legislation and economy.
