Why join us?

  • Dual citizenship: As a member of the Graduate School, you are enrolled in the doctoral programme at your home institution and at the same time a member of a central university level graduate school. This provides for a wider network around your project.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration in an international environment: Work with researchers from many parts of the world and from a range of disciplines, fostering critical discussions of complex challenges.
  • Courses and activities: Gain first-hand access to interdisciplinary sustainability courses, workshops, and events designed to widen your perspectives, enhance your research skills and extend your academic network.
  • Community and collaboration: Become part of a supportive community that values strong interpersonal relationships and collaboration. Get involved in activities and enjoy a rich social and academic experience.
  • An internal fund to support PhD student activities: By being a member of the Graduate School, you have the possibility to apply for additional funding to be used within your PhD project. It can be to attend a conference, buy books or scientific material or to conduct fieldwork. Smaller grants are handled by the office, whilst bigger applications are decided by our steering group.
