Juan Ocampo

Department of Business Administration

About me

I have a Bachelor and Master degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia) and a Master in Organizational Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Copenhagen Business School (Denmark). My research is mainly focused on New Monetary Models, Social Innovation and Academic Entrepreneurship.

I am an Industrial Engineer with a passion for conscious modeling, where numbers meet humanistic stories. My experience from Multilaterals and different Public Entities in Latin America is complemented with involvement in technological and entrepreneurial ecosystems around Europe. Moreover, I have teaching experience in different contexts and trust that education and self-awareness are key for developing as human beings. I have the interdisciplinary and cross-sectorial understanding to advocate for the accomplishment of the 2030 Sustainability Development Goals.

About my research project

I work for a future in which communities and its members are empowered. I believe that by new ways of understanding and designing money we will be on our way to having a more sustained and inclusive economic future. Today technology empowers us to act locally, autonomously and in decentralized ways and my research objective is to, in a global context, find ways to govern, communicate and scale the impact of new monetary models.
